Make a donation to support our actions

Société pour l’action, l’éducation et la sensibilisation environnementale de Montréal (SAESEM) is a non-profit organization that develops innovative projects aimed at protecting the environment, raising public awareness and improving quality of life in Montreal. We also manage the Éco-quartier program in the Peter-McGill district.

Where your donation goes

As a resident, organisation, or business that makes a donation to SAESEM, you directly support the development of local environmental, social, and community projects.

Actions de verdissement

Environmental Education

SAESEM actively raises awareness among Montrealers on urban environmental issues. We help community members develop a sustainable lifestyle by designing activities for environmental engagement, which also help build a sense of belonging in Peter-McGill.

Agriculture urbaine

Urban Ecosystem Stewardship

Access to green spaces is crucial to community well-being in an urban environment. SAESEM develops and coordinates a variety of green initiatives, from urban agriculture, to ruelles vertes (“green alleyways”), to collective gardening, to community clean-up activities.

Cigarette Butt Recycling

As part of our practice of ecological waste management, SAESEM has developed and continues to expand its network of ashtrays dedicated to recycling cigarette butts in the public and private spheres.

Carbon-neutral Logistics

SAESEM offers a low-to-zero-emissions, 100% environmentally responsible distribution service! We have developed the use of alternative modes of transportation, such as electric trucks and bike trailers, to change the face of transportation logistics in Quebec, notably for such projects as expanding Montreal’s network of brown bins and collecting reusable furniture with Trash2Treasure.

We thank you for your generous support!
